Specialising in cinematography from Napier University’s BA Hons Film degree she graduated with a 2:1. Claire’s final year thesis ‘Conservation and the Camera’ discussed the ethical impacts of wildlife filmmaking. It also explored how filmmakers could make more of an effort for their films to have long lasting positive change, which is something she has implemented into her own films.

From here Claire went on to work as a wildlife camera assistant and drone pilot for BBC’s Spring Watch, Autumn Watch and Winter Watch, as well as working as a studio camera assistant on Andy’s Global Adventures through BBC’s Project Songbird training scheme. With a passion for urban wildlife stories Claire successfully pitched Winter Watch to come live from the city centre of Edinburgh, UK. The series was a huge success and followed hibernating ladybirds, a family of 12 badgers and her personal favourite urban otters.

Claire has since gone on to work as a camera assistant and drone operator for BBC Countryfile, and Fake or Fortune. She has also worked as a wildlife camera operator for the feature film ‘The Salt Path’.

Having filmed various wildlife sequences, and presenter led pieces all over the UK, Claire is a confident camera assistant and second shooter with extensive experience in long lens, sync, and drone filming.
